a community of global photographers, capturing worlds through the minds of others. we believe in photography as the world’s universal language.
Worlds Through Minds is a creative community of photographers, producers, and directors primarily based in New York with outreach in international photo festival/workshops including Photo Kathmandu, Ephemere Tokyo, Foto Bali, Foto Moto and more. It was founded by Macy Castaneda Lee and Jiji Patricio. Currently it is run by photographer Macy Castaneda Lee with their team Liz Wood, Semin Jang, Tracy Dong, and Sylvia Dressen.
We create and curate group gallery shows, in person workshops & artist talks, darkroom classes, zines, and online photo walk artist interviews on our blog. We are a collaborative collective and space that is open for image makers and producers of all kinds.
Since running in 2022, we have worked with the University of California Galleries, the International Center of Photography Programming & Library, Brooklyn Film Camera Club, the Penumbra Foundation, Verci New York, Land to Sea, & more.
Through our work we share international photographers whose works reflect intricate human emotion, consciousness, unconsciousness, temporality, reality, lightness, and darkness. Our contributing professional artists from all over are curious and eager to create safe spaces & meaningful conversations surrounding personal journeys navigating themes and topics from identity, consciousness, migration, health, and social environments.
